It has been a few weeks now since we have obtained a parametric speaker kit. The kit came from a Japanese supplier on eBay, it contained all the necessary parts to create a single channel audio amplifier and an ultrasonic transducer array. The kit took about 2 hours to build from the parts provided. There was a small issue with creating the inductor using the ferrite rod provided. The inductor is used to make a resonant LC circuit because the ultrasonic transducers have a capacitance of about 2000pF . There is no spec sheet for the ferrite rod so the permeability is unknown. To fix this team sandman will purchase a new ferrite rod to created the inductor and finish the speaker. Once the speaker is complete we can start testing range of sound, sound reflection and other properties.
